Warning: Lots of pictures on this post and not really in any particular order!
We just got back from 5 days down on St.
Simons Island off the coast of Georgia. David got called to do a last minute trip down there for work and of course we couldn't pass up a trip to go! We love the area and I think this makes our 5
th trip down there. David had to work nights, so the boys and I just made
our self at home. I have gotten to know the area pretty well and killed lots of time so that David could sleep.
On day one, we went to
Jekyll Island to the Georgia Sea Turtle Hospital/Center. I think this makes our 3rd trip there, but we love going. The bring in hurt sea turtles and rehab them to be re-released.
Jekyll Island is very historic and ritzy. It used to be owned by the
Rockefeller's and was used as the wealthy peoples' vacation island back in the 20's. It's still pretty ritzy today.
On day two, we just shopped and spent time in Target and Old Navy, I know not very
beachy, but Garrett has decided that he was to lay/dig/love the sand and I couldn't hardly clean him off with Ty clinging to me. Garrett also decided that he loves the ocean. Last summer he would hardly get in the water, but this trip he basically jumped in and the water was COLD! So I didn't want to have to jump in and get him :)
On day three, we did go to the beach that morning and enjoyed being there with few people. St.
Simons is a beautiful place and not very touristy. We went and walked about down town or what they call the village and visited the lighthouse again, walked on the pier again and hit the playground. I told David, I completely see us living there ;)
We also went up to Savannah on our trip. I love Savannah, but on Saturday it was too crowded and to much
Mardi Gras stuff going on. So we didn't stay long, but went over to
Tybee Island and had supper. We ate at this fabulous place called the Crab Shack. I got crab stew and it was DELICIOUS. David got a sampler and it was huge! If you go to Savannah, it is definitely worth eating there.

On
Tybee, warning if you go to Savannah do not stay at the hotel in the background. We were scared just looking at it from the outside (it was the Ocean Plaza=scary!)
