Apple Picking!

Again, several weeks ago we went up the North Georgia (Ellijay) to pick apples with our good friends the Richey's.  Of course in Georgia it decides to be about 86 degrees on the day we decide to go.  So it was hot and there were yellow jackets absolutely everywhere, but we had a good time and got some delicious apples!  Next time we are going to try and go when its a little cooler!

We stopped for lunch at this place called Poole's Barbecue, we had been several times before, but its an experience for someone that has never been.  The owner is a big time Republican and has campaign memorabilia all of the restaurant and has the place decorated from wall to ceiling. If you are ever in Ellijay, GA, its definitely a place to check out.

Here are some pictures of my little apple pickers!

Legoland Discovery-Atlanta

For Garrett's birthday we headed to Legoland Discovery for the day.  We had been wanting to take hime for awhile, but never made it up there.  Garrett had a great time, but it was so small considering that we had just went to the Legoland Amusement Park.  The Discovery Center was much more about building Legos.  It was a really nice place with one ride that I forced Garrett to go on and of course, he had a great time on the ride once he was one it.

I love taking him to see Legoland things, but I think they are so overpriced!  We were only probably there a hour and a half and we had seen and done everything there was so do, except visit the gift shop on the way out the door!

Go Vols!

Way behind in the blogging world!  We have been busy and with a traveling daddy, the blogging has taken a back seat.  So lots of blog posts to do!

First, several, several weeks ago the boys and I went to Tennessee on short notice to go with Mom and Dad to the Tennessee game.  We weren't planning on going, but then David ended up having to leave on short notice and I decided to take the boys and go.  Lots of traveling while we were there.  We drove up on Friday, then drove to watch Uncle Adam's football team play in Sunbright.  On Saturday, we headed to Knoxville to watch UT take on Akron.  After a close game, we pulled it out and I think that was our last win!

Sunday was a down day and then we headed back to Atlanta on Monday!  Busy, busy time!  It was Garrett's 4th Tennessee game and Ty's first.  They had a good time, but it was a late game, so they both actually fell asleep at halftime and it was a LONG walk to the car after the game!

Here are some pictures of the game!

Comparing...

I went back and looked at Garrett's 2 year pictures the other day and really thought that he and Ty looked a lot alike at 2!  They don't so much right now, I think because their hair is so different!  Ty has curly, frizzy blonde hair (the color Coffey side and the curly, frizzy from me) and Garrett has very straight dark brown hair.

They were very close in height and weight too.  I constantly hear that Ty is so tall, but he and Garrett were the same height at 2.  They were both right around 35 1/2 inches tall.  Ty weights 32.9 at 2 and Garrett weighed 29.9 at 2.  So Ty does have a 3 pound advantage on Garrett.  Ty has a much bigger foot that Garrett did.  He is currently in a size 8 to 8 1/2 and Garrett wore about a 7 at the same age.

I'm curious to see if they stay close in height or not.  Not in that big of a hurry for them to grow up though!

Ty's 2 Year Old Pictures and Stats

I had Ty's 2 year pictures made several weeks ago.  I was very happy with how the turned out considering that he would barely crack a smile the entire time.  Out of about 50 pictures, he smiled in about 3 or 4!  I actually used a LivingSocial deal that I had bought for a local photography place and was very pleased with them!

There is a park with a gym that looks like a barn about 15 minutes from here and that is where we had the pictures taken.

He had his 2 year check-up on Thursday and his weight and height were about what I thought.  He weights 32.9 pounds (96% percentile) and is 35 1/4 inches tall (71% percentile), I actually think they measured him a little short because I measured him at 36 inches.  His head was 19 3/4 inches (92% percentile).  He is a perfectly healthy little boy!

Ty's School Birthday

On Wednesday, I took cookies to school for Ty's birthday.  On Tuesday night he helped to decorate the cookies.  We made funfetti cookies on a stick.  I thought putting them on a stick would help in a 2 year old class and it did!  It wasn't very messy, happy teachers!

The birthday boy!  Ty isn't much on sweets, so he ate part of his cookie and was done.
His little friends at school!  There is one more boy in the class, but he isn't in the picture.  Ty can have his choice of cute little girls!
