Halloween and Pumpkins

Halloween really snuck up on me this year in regards to carving pumpkins.  I had the boys costumes for awhile, but our pumpkins did not get carved.  Instead we went to Target and bought kits to stick in your pumpkins, they were made for moms who ran out of time and Daddy was away, that's for sure!

Woody and Captain America, no surprise there :)

Ty was so mad that Woody was staying in the pumpkin!
For Halloween this year, Garrett dressed up as an American Soldier and Ty dressed up like Woody from Toy Story.  Garrett was so indecisive that I 'helped' him finally decide what to wear.

We were so happy that Daddy made it in the night before to help us go Trick or Treating!

 Off to the neighborhood...

Fall School Parties

Last week the boys had fall parties at school.  Ty's as on Tuesday and Garrett's was on Wednesday.  I was in charge of Garrett's so needless to say it was a crazy week!
The school is at our church so the kids don't dress up in Halloween costumes, instead they can dress up as farmers or farm animals.  Both the boys went as farmers!

Garrett's fall party, very few pictures were taken, I was playing hostess that day!

Shark and Scuba Party

On October 13th, we finally were able to have Garrett's birthday party.  Since we were doing a shark and scuba thing, I thought the easy thing to do would be to have an indoor swim party at Aqua-Tots in Douglasville.  It worked out so well because David ended up being gone and I didn't have to do anything to get ready for the party besides dropping off decorations.

Garrett invited friends from baseball, school and church to come and we had a great turnout.  He had a blast!

Karate!

Several weeks ago, Garrett started taking Karate lessons in Hiram at Breakthrough Martial Arts.  We decided to give it a try because he is such an introvert when it comes to some things.  It really takes him a while to warm up to somethings.

I think this is our 4th week and he is absolutely loving it!

Garrett turned 5!

It's so hard to believe that Garrett is five years old.  It just seems like yesterday we were bringing him home for the first time as a family of three.  It is quite the little boy.  Very emotional, loves Legos, loves movies, loves his family, loves school, loves all toys (!), loves chickens, helpful (when he wants to be), would rather live on candy and chips than real food, precious child of God.

Garrett definitely changed David and I by making us parents for the first time and I don't know what I would do without that feisty little boy!

For his birthday he picked up Angy Birds cupcakes and his favorite pizza, Spinach Alfredo (yum!).

We had cupcakes, brownies and chocolate chip cookies for his school party!

Apple Picking!

Again, several weeks ago we went up the North Georgia (Ellijay) to pick apples with our good friends the Richey's.  Of course in Georgia it decides to be about 86 degrees on the day we decide to go.  So it was hot and there were yellow jackets absolutely everywhere, but we had a good time and got some delicious apples!  Next time we are going to try and go when its a little cooler!

We stopped for lunch at this place called Poole's Barbecue, we had been several times before, but its an experience for someone that has never been.  The owner is a big time Republican and has campaign memorabilia all of the restaurant and has the place decorated from wall to ceiling. If you are ever in Ellijay, GA, its definitely a place to check out.

Here are some pictures of my little apple pickers!
