Expanding and Expecting...

This blog message is to let everyone know what we are expecting baby #2! I am officially 12 weeks on Saturday, so like with Garrett's pregnancy we waited to tell everyone about the new baby. Our due date is September 18th (10 days before Garrett's 3rd birthday), so the timing was perfect!

We found out we were expecting while still in Baltimore, so we have known for a while. This pregnancy has been quite a bit rougher than Garrett's. Morning sickness found me very early and I have been sick about every day for 6 weeks. I am definitely ready for this phase to pass and feel like a person again!

I think Garrett's a little unsure what to expect, but we have been talking about the baby and all the things we have to get and all of that. He has been saying the baby is a sister, but yesterday the baby was a brother, so who knows!

I have been to the doctor twice and everything looks great. I am using a midwife like I did with Garrett. The office and hospital are in Marietta (about 20 minutes away and more depending on traffic).

At our last visit the baby's heartrate was 170. I can definitely feel that everything comes on quicker the second time around. If you saw me you could definitely tell that I am pregnant because I look like I'm 5 months already! It should be a fun Georgia summer :)

We just wanted to share our wonderful news (I know that David was ready to tell everyone and I had to hold him back)!

David, Sara, Garrett and Baby #2

Life Catch-up

We have been so busy lately, but I finally have some time to sit down and catch everyone up on our lives. David graduated on January 20th, so no more Baltimore and being apart. It is so nice to actually see my husband every day. David started his job here in Atlanta on Monday. He picked up his work car and met everyone in the office. He is pleased to find out that he won't have to wear a suit everyday and is quickly being thrown into work. He is also finding out about the Atlanta commute. We live about 22 miles from his office and so far it hasn't been to bad.

We are quickly setting into life in Atlanta. Finding our way around and making new friends. Luckily there was another guy headed here from David's class and his wife and I have hit it off. They have a 7 month old little boy, so before long Garrett will have someone to play with.

Our house is coming together. We had a wooden fence put up last week and are bringing our dogs down very soon. It is be so nice to have everything and everyone here at last. For most of you, you know what a long journey it has been, but the end has come and we are together at last.

Of course, we still have stuff everyone and lots to unpack, but it will eventually get done :) We have decided that I am going to stay at home with Garrett. We are looking for some type of one day a week Mother's Day Out like we had in Crossville, so that he can be around other kids his age every now and then.

We are also looking forward to warmer weather, I thought Atlanta was suppose to be warm, but we have been freezing down here. It was warm on Sunday and rained all day long. I'm sure that in July, I'll be begging for cooler weather here. The other family that moved here when we did live in a swim community (unfortunely our subdivision is too small for a pool), so we have been invited to join them at there pool and they have a kids area. That will be wonderful in the summer in Hotlanta.

Last thing:
An update on Garrett
He is such a firecracker these days. It is so nice because we can have a conversation with him and he tells us what he wants or doesn't want. He is big into watching movies. When he is done watching it and comes and tells us "No watch dino movie, watch dog movie". He is big into dinosaurs and cars/trucks. Our playroom is coming together, but he would rather stay in the livingroom and play (of course!). He can say anything and can get quite emotional. Our time-out chair is used frequently. He weights 31.4 pounds and is almost too much for me to carry now. It's amazing how big he has gotten. The last time we visited David, Garrett went to his 15th state. He has been too:

Chick-Fil-A Bowl--Tennessee vs. Virginia Tech

We went to the Chick-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta on New Year's Eve. Tennessee played Virginia Tech and lost. It was an ugly game, but we had a good time. Before the game we went to FanFest and watched the team walks. Garrett got his face painted with a T and it looked too cute!

It was an ugly day in Atlanta with fog and cold temperatures. Pa, Nana, Andrew and his friend came to Atlanta to go to the game with us.

Christmas Time!

I realize that I am a little late about posting our Christmas pictures, but better late than never. We have been in Atlanta and without a computer since Christmas (David has it in Baltimore).

We had a wonderful Christmas. Garrett got so much stuff. He opened presents after presents! Santa brought him a wooden train table and train set (that took David hours to set up!). Nana and Pa got him a Power Wheels jeep and he got countless other presents from books, to movies, many dinosaurs, tons of cars, a boxing set and much, much more. He helped me to decorate our tree in Georgia and helped redecorate Nana's tree.

David flew in Christmas Eve and spent 10 days with us. He is back in Baltimore till January 20th and then we will all be in Atlanta!

Halloween, Tricks or Treats and a Party

Hope everyone had a great Halloween. This year Garrett was a bullrider, I was a rodeo clown, Cory was a rodeo clown, Mom was Ugly Betty and Dad was the Geek. We all had a great time and Mom and Dad won the costume contest. Every year Karen and Patrick have a Halloween party and everyone dresses up and we had a contest. We all keep the costumes a secret (well pretty much) till that night. This year we had Troll dolls, Princess Toadstool and the Mario Brothers, Lucy, Old Hippies, a Jamaican and other great costumes.

I took Garrett trick or treating to my grandparents and a few other places. We definitely got lots of candy and was wild at the party. All in all we had a great time. Enjoy the pictures from our night :)

Fall has arrived :)

The horses at Muddy Pond

We are so happy that Fall has finally arrived, even though we have had some cold days and nights, we love it! The leaves are changing colors and we are preparing our costumes for the Halloween party next week (we'll post pictures of the party soon after).

We closed on our house on October 16th and we are so glad to have that whole process over with (it is exhausting and stressful)! We absolutely love the house and have plenty of room. We are about 25 miles from Atlanta and about 7 miles away from Kennesaw. The subdivision seems to be very nice and the lot next to ours is a playground. As soon as we got there the other day, Garrett said "I go play". We are in the process of changing out most of the light fixtures in the house (everything was bright gold) and we are changing everything to rubbed bronze or pewter. Just the small changes will update the house (I will post pictures of the change as soon as it is done).

Mom and I went to Atlanta last week and she watched Garrett while I painted and put together some new furniture. I painted the main floor bathroom a eggshell blue and have to paint Garrett's bathroom and all the painting will be done. Luckily the rest of the house is a very pretty khaki color with white molding and trim. We are having our furniture moved on November 6th, after a year in storage, I can't even remember what all we have! So lots of work ahead for me to get the house ready.

Last weekend Garrett and I went with Mom and Dad to Muddy Pond (a Mennonite community) to watch them make sorgrum and for Garrett to see the horses. We had a good time and bought some very good goodies :)

On Sunday, I carved some pumpkins for Garrett. He told me he like the "pumpkin man". He is going through a phase were he wants to help do everything. So he kinda of helped me carve, but then he said "Mama nasty" because I had pumpkin guts on my hand. Oh the things he says these days :)

We are going to visit David in 2 weeks and are excited to see him and to see Maryland/D.C. in the Fall. It should be an interesting plane ride for me and Garrett (lots of stuff to take with us).
