End of the School Year

Thursday was also the last day of school :(  Garrett had such a wonderful year.  I absolutely loved his teachers and so did he.  I told them to prepare for Ty in a few years!  He has learned so much this year.  The problem is I'm not sure how much he knows because I ask him to count to 100 and he just says, "1, 100".  He can write and spell his name.  Write and spell Ty's name.  Recognize all his letters, number, etc...Can kinda tell time and so much more!

Last Pre-Ball Game

Garrett had his last pre-ball game on Thursday.  I am a little sad that it's over, but Ty is such a handful out there, it will make my life a little easier.  Garrett enjoyed playing, but I think he was ready for it to be over.  The last couple games, the kids just mostly wanted to play with each other.  It was really fun and we will look forward to next spring!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!  We celebrated with a nice quiet, lazy Sunday at home.  After church we went to Jim and Nick's and enjoyed yummy barbecue potatoes.  David fixed ribs, sweet potatoes and rolls for dinner on Sunday night.
David had brought home tulips on Friday.  I love tulips, but they die so quickly.  So he bought some different ones, hopefully they will last a lot longer.

This necklace is my Mother's Day present (not this exact one, not my initials, but the one off of the website).  I have been eyeing it for sometime and finally ordered it.  It will take about a month to get here, I will have to post pictures of mine!

Miramar Beach, Florida

We are back from Florida.  It was a short, but really good trip.  We stayed in Miramar Beach.  It is just about 4 miles from Destin.  We stayed at the Sandestin Resort.  It is a really nice place to stay.  It is a huge complex.  It takes up the bay and beach side of the road.  The boys absolutely love the beach.  It was Garrett's 6th or 7th time and Ty's 2nd.  The gulf is so nice!  It had been awhile since I had been to that side of the ocean.

 Day 2

We stopped at the Bass Pro in Destin to let the boys see the giant shark.  Ty was actually a little afraid of it...
Fudpucker's in Destin...Lots of kid stuff.  Both boys fed alligators and played on the playground.  I had awesome crab legs!

 Day 3
We got complimentary bicycles during our stay and rode them one day.  We rode all around the bay.  Ty ended up not being happy, taking off his helmet and fighting with Garrett :)
Angler's Restaurant on Oskaloosa Island (and pier).  Great restaurant, definitely recommend!

Painting Peacocks...

A few people from our Sunday School at church got together and did a painting class.  It was so much fun!  As you can see, we painted peacocks.  Its something fun and different.  I am definitely planning on doing it again!

South Georgia

The weekend of April 20th, we went down to south Georgia.  If you have ever been to south Georgia, it is almost like a step back in time.  Tons of agriculture, lots of 'famous' claims and no traffic!

Our first stop was Providence Canyon.  It is a really neat place, but really neglected.  I guess with budget cuts, they have just let me go.  It is called the 'little Grand Canyon' of Georgia.  It is actually caused by poor farming practices long ago.

Our second stop was George Bagby State Park even farther south.  It was a super nice state park.  We actually stayed at the lodge and really enjoyed it.  David and Garrett took a canoe out on the lake (we later found out there are alligators in the lake, eek!).

Our last stop was Okefenokee Swamp in Waycross, GA.  We had been once before, but I was 7 months pregnant and it was literally 100 degrees.  It was still really hot that day, but much better.

These are actual wild, live alligators...

We took a boat ride through the swamp.  David was pointing out a big alligator that apparently likes to charge the boat!

We started the ride in between storms and got absolutely soaked during the ride.  This was when Garrett was happy and dry.
